Colin Spinks

Colin Spinks is an accomplished organist, accompanist, repetiteur, composer and soloist.

​

After graduating from Aylesbury Grammar School, Colin studied organ with Stephen Armstrong in High Wycombe before becoming Organ Scholar of Brasenose College Oxford in 1994 where he studied with Stephen Farr and David Goode. He then spent two years at Gloucester Cathedral with David Briggs and Ian Ball.

Currently working with Barnet, North Herts, High Wycombe and Aylesbury Choral Societies, he has held similar positions with Marlow and Thame Choral Societies and Aylesbury Opera Group. Additionally, he enjoys regularly working with London-based chamber choirs Ad Libitum and Chantage, and has performed with the Frideswide Ensemble (Oxford), Musica Donum Dei and the London Mozart Players.

Colin’s proudest musical achievement so far is his part as musical director in establishing the Jean Langlais Festival in Brittany, France. He has continued his involvement in the festival, which he looks forward to every year, as a repetiteur and lecturer.
